As part of my letter carving education with Eric Marland in Cambridge, UK, I worked on a plaque for some friends of mine who were volunteers at the Crofton Beam Engine Museum (Crofton Beam Engine ).
It happened to be the 200th year anniversary of this wonderful place so it gave me an opportunity to practice some raised lettering in an ‘iron forge‘ style reflective of the time that the Beam Engine came into effect.
The plaque is displayed on the driving platform in the museum.
If you find yourself in Wiltshire during May to October check out the Crofton Beam Engine for a steam day. Its a fascinating look back in time.
