Sadly, my Dad passed away way too soon at the age of 59 in Nova Scotia. The creation of this piece stems from his love of Pavarotti’s version of this beautiful song. It is carved on a highly riven piece of Nova Scotian slate. You can see a massive fossil just between ‘MÉ’ and ‘La’ which made this a challenging piece to carve.
Translated, the phrase means ‘Do not forget me, my life is bound to yours’. I have the pleasure of seeing it each day in my garden and remembering my Dad along the way.
